The metal strips function like eyelids: when the fan is off the meaning of the work is "shut". With the turn of the fan meaning is gradually exposed. This is not a linear process though, since the wind exposes different parts of the text as it blows from left to right and right to left. The sentence "Sleeping in Our Beds" is a translation from Hebrew. This sentence has no object, and it leaves the question open: who is sleeping in our beds? In Seven Attempts to Bring Back the Sun there is a clash of forces: the unintentional hero is also the unintentional antagonist. He rises but doesn't shine. Sets, but never disappears.
